I am trying to figure out how to pay tuition when I don't have any money. Does anyone out there have and ideas? I have tried a part-time job in addition to my full-time one but I am still comming up short and I miss the time I used to have. I have tried scholarship essays and contests but have not recieved and corespondence after the initial entry. Because I am a non-traditional student I can't qualify for anything based on academics - it's been 15 years since high school - I have no academics.
Speaking of scholarships here is my response to the contest sponsored by Gaia. I'd love to know what you think.

1) What is your purpose?
My purpose is to live a full life, to make life better for others, and to leave the world better after I go.
2) What do you love, and how do (or will) your actions demonstrate this?
I love helping others. I want people around the world to experience unconditional love, and know that someone cares enough to help make their lives better. During several humanitarian missions, I've been blessed to help those who don't know how to help themselves, to comfort those who stand in most need of comfort. I want to introduce medical clinics to these remote, forgotten areas of the world. These clinics will provide loving treatment for some simple ailments, and show others how to love and care for thier sick and aging. Their lives will be made whole and they can continue to touch others with their service.
3) Write your ideal job description.
I would ease into the morning with a cup of coffee, watching the sunrise and listening to nature awaken to the beauty of the day. I would kiss the one I love and say "I love you" as we walk, hand in hand down a dusty road to open the doors of our local medical clinic. We would be hailed by young children, laughing and eager for us to join in their game. We smile as we continue on our way, grateful for the feeling of family, even as ours are far away. At the door, I greet my eager assistant, a beautiful young woman, eager to help her small village. We greet our first patient, asking "How are you feeling?"
Eating our meager lunch, I notice the beauty of the earth all around me--in the people, the fields, the mountains, the animals. It's time again to greet the next patient and show my love by comforting them. As dusk begins to fall I reflect on the day, seeing once again the infant I've held crying for her now dead mother, the shy child with liquid brown eyes that begs for one more hug before I leave and the elderly father, struggling to care for his sick daughter, pleading for something to make her pain easier just for today. I begin the journey home and thank God for the beauty and love I have experienced all around me as I fall into bed exhausted and looking forward to tomorrow.
